Pastor

I am John McLemore; I was born here in Odessa but have moved in and out many times.  My family and I came back to Odessa in 1984.  We joined Belmont Baptist in 1984 and began to serve actively several years later.   We have been active in this church ever since.  I was ordained as a Deacon in 1994 and served as the Chairman of the Deacons from 1998 to 2003.  I have been a Sunday School Teacher,  Awana leader, ESL Instructor, and Church Treasurer.  I have grown up physically and spiritually in this church and have had the privilege of being mentored by some truly Godly people.  God called me to the Gospel ministry in 2004 and I was licensed and ordained at Belmont in that year.  I was called by Belmont to serve as their full time pastor in 2006 and have served in that capacity to this day.  I have seen good days and bad days at Belmont but I have experienced the true love of a church family since 1984.  I am thankful that God led me and my family to this church and I am thankful to be serving as the pastor of this flock.  I believe God has something special for this church in the future and I encourage anyone that wants to be part of a loving family to give us a try.

Children's Director

I am Dana Martin.  I was born and raised here in Odessa, TX.  I am a teacher at Austin Montessori School, and I enjoy working with children of all ages.  In 2009, I began attending Belmont Baptist and then volunteered as a Sunday School teacher.  The Children's Director position opened, and this job was knocking at my heart.  I prayed, and God revealed to me that this was a position I needed to take.  It has been a real honor and pleasure to work with the children and the Children's Ministry Team.  Thanks to a faithful group of volunteers in the Children's Ministry, Belmont has blessed many children and families' lives through various programs the church offers.  The Children's Ministry program covers children from nursery through 5th grade.

Student Ministries Director

Myra has faithfully served Belmont as a Sunday School teacher and as our AWANA Commander for more than 17 years.  When the Student Ministries position opened in 2018, she felt God's tug on her heart to move on up.  Myra expanded the church's AWANA program to include Trek and Journey for our students on Wednesday nights, and she teaches their Sunday School class.  She manages summer Vacation Bible School for the Middle School group, and chaparones all students to conferences in various locations.  The Student Ministry program is for young people in 6th through 12th grades.
